We’re No Heroes

We’re No Heroes were formed trans-atlantically in Summer 2009 after a brief trip to Chicago to hook up with their drummer Luke in an incredible downtown studio. There amongst the unusual backdrop which looked like the remains of Don Capote’s secret hideout, the three welsh lads formed the basic ideas and concepts of their musical intervention, each member sure and focused on creating something original.

The band decided to call themselves We’re No Heroes unusually due to a dream that Luke had, the name also coincided with the ethos of what the band was all about, not motivated by becoming a mainstream or commercial act or ever hope of hero worship, instead they are motivated by following their own inhibitions, creating a unique blend from their array of influences, from funk, indie, dance and math-rock which form their sound.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2010 and WNH already with a dozen gigs under their belts and slowly climbing the local scene, they released their debut EP, entitled ‘Crossing Over’ for free, in aim for as many people would here it as possible, so far it has bee downloaded over 400+ times with even more song downloads, all of which are available for free at various online outlets, including Bandcamp, Lastfm and the bands own website www.werenoheroes.com.

Still gigging despite exhaustively working on the 2nd EP which is rumoured to be titled ‘World & Walls’ the band are slowly becoming a rising force within the local Welsh music scene. As of Late 2010 they are in the early stages of finishing the follow-up with a handful of new songs under their belts which will all be exclusively performed live before anything is released.
The band will continue to progress their on ‘Worlds & Walls’ which plans to released in 2011, ultimately changing their sound for the better while still keeping the main sentiments intact.
